Open Badge Factory API v2 is now officially out of beta

We’re excited to announce that Open Badge Factory API v2 is now officially out of beta and fully released!

After an extensive testing phase and valuable feedback from our users, API v2 is ready for production use. This new version was built to provide a smoother and more powerful experience for development teams integrating Open Badge Factory into their platforms.

A more developer-friendly API experience

API v2 introduces major improvements designed to make badge issuing integrations faster, easier, and more reliable:

  • OpenAPI-based documentation for clearer exploration and testing

  • A more robust and future-proof architecture

  • Improved support for automated badge issuing workflows

  • Easier integration with platforms such as LMS, HR systems, and custom applications

Whether you’re building a custom integration or issuing badges directly from an existing learning or talent system, API v2 gives you the flexibility and tools to scale with confidence.
