Professionalism

This badge recognizes students who have demonstrated foundational knowledge of professionalism and its adaptability across diverse environments. Awarded upon successful completion of the "Introduction to Professional Skills and Professionalism" course, funded by the City Tech STEM Success Collaborative, it signifies the learner's ability to apply essential professional skills, including effective communication, goal-setting, time management, teamwork, and self-development. The course introduces students to the principles of professionalism and professional skills, also known as soft skills or career readiness skills, equipping them with the knowledge and skills necessary for success in both academic and professional settings. By highlighting the importance of professionalism during college, the course prepares students to excel as professionals in the workplace after graduation and to embody professionalism throughout their academic journey. Comprising four modules, the course combines lectures, quizzes, reflective activities, and practical applications. It culminates in a one-on-one "Coffee Chat" with a faculty member, where students demonstrate their skills in a real-world scenario, receive feedback, and gain valuable mentorship opportunities.
