AUTS Emergency First Aid 8 h

This certificate is awarded to an individual who has successfully completed the AUTS Emergency First Aid 8 h course. They attended the entire training and completed the required tasks and practical exercises.

The trainer for this course is a licensed healthcare professional (registered nurse, public health nurse, paramedic, or physician) who also holds a first aid instructor qualification.

Contents of the AUTS Emergency First Aid 8 h Course

• Actions in an emergency
• Making an emergency call to 112
• First aid for an unresponsive person
• Adult CPR (chest compressions and rescue breaths)
• Use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) during resuscitation
• Choking: removal of a foreign object from the airway
• Control of severe bleeding
• Shock (severe circulatory failure)
• Additional first aid topics selected according to the needs of the target group

The first aid guidelines taught in this course are aligned with the ERC (European Resuscitation Council) guidelines and the Finnish national Current Care Guidelines.

The AUTS Emergency First Aid certificate is valid for three (3) years.
