Criteria

Earning this badge means that you have mastered the basics of copyright. The holder of the Copyright Expert badge has successfully completed the Kopiraittila Academy copyright course.

Competence

• knows the basic concepts and terminology related to copyright
• understands what different kinds of intangible rights there are
• is able to use the licences of works and the Creative Commons licence when using and sharing works
• is able to utilise works while respecting the author’s moral and other rights
• has mastered the use of quotations and source references
• understands their responsibilities and the consequences of copyright violations

Demonstration of competence

• has successfully completed the Kopiraittila Academy copyright course

Kopiraittila Academy is a set of online materials for studying copyright. The material includes a study module on copyright skills.

The material is composed of five sections: Intellectual property rights, Copyright, Transferring copyrights, Use of works and Self-producing. Each section has its own test that needs to be completed successfully to pass the course.
