Learning Outcomes

The micro-credential confirms that the learner possesses in-depth knowledge, practical skills, and social competencies in design, implementation, and use of data warehouses as tools to support business analytics and decision-making processes.

The learner who earned the micro-credential knows and understands:

  • data acquisition processes, including ETL (Extract, Transform, Load),
  • multidimensional data models (star schema, snowflake schema),
  • the significance of data warehouses in the context of data analysis and business decision-making,
  • the principles of analytical data processing (OLAP).

The learner is able to:

  • design data warehouse structures using fact and dimension models,
  • implement and configure ETL processes,
  • analyze and assess the quality of data used in warehouses,
  • create OLAP analytical queries and interpret their results,
  • plan and execute a data warehouse project considering business needs.

Assessment Method(s)

The micro-credential was granted on the basis of a positive assessment of laboratory classes and the final project completed as part of the course.

The verification of learning outcomes considered, in particular:

  • the accuracy of the designed dimensional models,
  • the quality of ETL process implementation,
  • the relevance of OLAP analyses and queries,
  • the ability to assess data quality,
  • independence and engagement in project execution.

Mode of Delivery

The micro-credential certifies the completion of 75 hours of theoretical classes, practical sessions, and independent student work. The classes were project-based and focused on the practical application of data warehousing.

Quality Assurance Arrangements Underpinning the Micro-credential

The issuance of the micro-credential is based on a coherent outcome matrix (knowledge, skills, and social competencies) – content – assessments, their verification, and agreed-upon teaching methods, in accordance with the course syllabus (practical profile) and under the supervision of the course coordinator. The quality of education is ensured by transparent criteria and passing thresholds, systematic evaluation of results, and periodic updates of content and methods based on conclusions from assessments and feedback from internal and external stakeholders.
