Open Badge “Coaching in Higher Education” develops the recipient’s knowledge and skills in how different coaching methodologies can be applied in university pedagogy in different fields. This badge is part of the Participatory learning communities meta badge. This badge is part of a pedagogical development programme aimed for the teaching and counselling staff at Tampere University of Applied Sciences. The badge is issued by School of Professional Teacher Education.

The badge recipient is able to

  • name the benefits of coaching approach in the context of higher education

  • apply the GROW model in individual coaching conversations

  • name the differences of individual and team coaching in the context of higher education

  • assess their own competence and personal development in coaching

  • start experimenting with different coaching methods in their work as university teachers

  • reflect on and guide their own growth and development as a coach.

Competence demonstration

You may choose one of these (a, b OR c)

a) Successfully completing the micro-credential on Moodle: NN00FQ21-3003 Coaching in Higher Education.

b) Utilising your previous experience by submitting a free form reflection in which you cover the learning goals.

c) Attaching an official certificate that demonstrates your competence in coaching.

You may document and demonstrate your competence in English or Finnish.
