Opintokeskus Sivis on valtakunnallinen aikuisoppilaitos, joka toteuttaa, tutkii, kehittää, ohjaa ja tukee järjestöllistä koulutusta. Sivis järjestää vuosittain jäsenyhteisöjensä kanssa opintojaksoja noin 80 000 tuntia. Vertaisopintoryhmissä opiskellaan 47 000 tuntia ja ammatillisessa lisäkoulutuksessa 37 000 tuntia. Osallistujia on yhteensä noin 140 000.

Siviksen toimintaa rahoittaa, arvioi ja valvoo Opetus- ja kulttuuriministeriö. Toimintaa ylläpitää Opintotoiminnan Keskusliitto ry, ja sitä valvovat Opetus- ja kulttuuriministeriö sekä Opetushallitus. Toiminnasta säädetään vapaata sivistystyötä koskevassa laissa.

The earner of this badge:

  • Has a profound understanding of non-formal adult education /Nordic folkbildning and its role in society.

  • Has a comprehensive range of cognitive and practical pedagogical skills and deals with ease with heterogeneous groups and complex situations in a course.

  • Can design courses and learning events for people or groups with special needs.

  • Can supervise other pedagogues / group leaders in non-formal adult education/ Nordic folkbildning.

  • Can develop courses and concepts for a school’s/study centre’s programme.

  • Is aware of own strengths and limitations and takes responsibility for own professional development as a pedagogue / leader in non-formal adult education/ folkbildare.

  • Can conduct staff development activities in a folkbildning non-formal adult education /Nordic folkbildning setting.
