This capstone program (2 courses) introduces educators to the foundational concepts of artificial intelligence (AI), emphasizing its practical and ethical implications in educational settings. In Course One, students will explore the evolution of AI, its current applications in learning environments, and critical ethical issues, such as data privacy, bias, and equity. The course combines theoretical learning with case studies and practical exercises to enhance AI literacy among educators. Special emphasis is placed on developing strategies to integrate AI responsibly in education, ensuring alignment with ethical standards and educational equity. The second course focuses on practical applications of artificial intelligence (AI) in education, providing educators with the skills needed to select, implement, and evaluate AI tools within the classroom. Students will analyze and evaluate various AI technologies, including machine learning and natural language processing, and engage in hands-on practice to enhance real-world understanding. Topics covered include designing AI-enhanced curricula that improve teaching effectiveness and student learning experiences, troubleshooting AI technologies, and overcoming institutional barriers to technology integration.
