Environmental and Social Risks Standards

The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) is committed to the environmental and social sustainability of the development projects that it finances in Latin America and the Caribbean. To achieve this, those who manage these projects must thoroughly understand the Environmental and Social Policy Framework, which establishes performance standards for the management of environmental and social risks in IDB-financed projects. Holders of this digital badge have demonstrated their ability to (i) understand the priorities and commitments of the IDB’s Environmental and Social Policy Framework; (ii) identify the roles and responsibilities in environmental and social management; and (iii) assess the key topics of each of the environmental and social performance standards. These skills were acquired in the course The IDB's New Environmental and Social Policy Framework in a Nutshell within the framework of the Operations Learning Program offered by the BIDAcademy of the Inter-American Development Bank.
