NStEP Representing Diversity Training
This national milestone award recognises that the holder has completed Representing Diversity Training with the National Student Engagement Programme (NStEP). Training equips the holder to use tools and resources that will help to effectively represent their diverse classmates and empower fellow students from all backgrounds and lived experiences to get involved in student engagement in decision-making.
This training introduces key areas, concepts and tools that include:
- Identifying discrimination
- An introduction to unconscious bias and recognising your own biases.
- Accessible and Inclusive Language
- Representing Intersectionality and how intersectionality impacts students’ experience in higher education.
- Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and the benefits for increasing student engagement
- Supports and signposting- Class Rep spheres of influence and knowing who to turn to with queries.
- Tackling Racism- using the iReport Tool
