• Earner has demonstrated willingness to learn and commitment to professional development through undertaking an Air Quality Literacy training course, comprising of 3 e-learning modules.
• Earner has gained knowledge and understanding of the Environmental Laws that the UK and World Health Organisation has in place to improve air quality. They have explored policies and legislation, and regional case studies relevant to the West Midlands.
• Earner has gained familiarity with the different types of air pollutants present within the region, including PM2.5, PM10, and Nitrogen Dioxide. They have explored the sources of these pollutants, health impacts they can cause, and have increased their understanding of health inequalities relating to air pollution sources and impacts.
• Earner has gained awareness of air quality monitoring, including sensors used and the type of pollutants that can be monitored. They have developed understanding of approaches by regional and Local Authorities to monitor, regulate, and improve air quality, including how Net Zero activities link with air pollution and associated case studies.
• Earner has demonstrated air quality literacy by successfully passing an online assessment to test their knowledge, achieving at least 28 out of 33 points.
