ASPIRE is a leadership development programme co-created by MTU (Ireland), Xamk (Finland) and TUIASI (Romania), contributing to the cross-European INGENIUM Education Laboratory alliance. It offers students a meaningful introduction to leadership that goes beyond theory, providing experiences that build confidence, self-awareness, and the ability to work effectively with others. Students participate in workshops, coaching conversations, real-world scenarios, and intercultural activities that help them explore how leaders think, communicate, and make decisions. The programme encourages reflection on personal strengths and values while exposing students to different leadership cultures across Europe. Ethical dilemmas, team-based challenges, and project simulations allow participants to practise leadership in safe but realistic settings. Throughout the programme, students engage with university experts and guest speakers from industry who bring practical insight and lived experience. By the end, participants have a deeper understanding of themselves as emerging leaders and are better prepared to step into diverse professional environments.

INGENIUM is an alliance of ten institutions of higher education from ten European countries. We seek to enable each member of the network to offer high-quality study and qualification programmes with digital components which are shared within the INGENIUM Alliance. Due to the internationalisation of courses and an increase in student and staff mobility, the promotion of intercultural competence among teachers and students is of central interest to us.
