Social and Environmental Compliance Inspections (SECI)

Learning goals 

Throughout this course, the participant developed skills to:

• Identify the principles, roles, and responsibilities required for environmental and social inspections according to international good practice.
• Explain why environmental and social compliance inspections are necessary to ensure regulation and law enforcement.
• Manage resources efficiently through targeted compliance promotion, compliance monitoring, inspections, and enforcement activities to achieve the best results.
• Identify the inspection functions necessary for effective management of environmental and social risks and impacts and appropriate response to violations.
• Identify the elements of an enforceable requirement.
• Select inspection activities to ensure compliance with regulatory framework.
• Identify ways in which to collect, document, and present evidence, including samples, in a legally defensible manner.

Self-paced course that includes:

• Three stages
• 11 modules with multimedia presentations, videos and downloadable materials that describe the Social and Environmental Compliance Inspections (SECI)
• Forum and database activities
• One multiple choice quiz at the end of each module
• One multiple choice quiz at the end of the stage

This course has three stages covering the following topics:

• Fundamentals of Social and Environmental Compliance Inspections (SECI)
• Planning and conducting Social and Environmental Compliance Inspections (SECI)
• Post Social and Environmental Compliance Inspections (SECI) Activities

Assessment description

Those who successfully pass all three course stages and obtain the corresponding badges are awarded the course credential.

The participant has passed each of the stages based on one of the following options:

• Option 1: Achieved a score of 90% or higher on the Placement Test of the Stage
• Option 2: Achieved a score of 70% or higher on the average of the graded activities for each stage, with a maximum of two attempts each.
