Start Up Entrepreneurship - Sheffield Chamber of Commerce Business & Enterprise Employer Skills Academy

Earning Criteria:

• Earner has demonstrated commitment and determination by participating in a 8-week, extracurricular self-employment programme to increase their entrepreneurial skills, develop a business idea from the ground up, and gain valuable connections within Sheffield.

• Earner has learnt about each aspect building a successful business through attending sessions including Legislation, Finance, Branding, Marketing, Sales, and Networking.

• Earner has participated in a range of activities to increase their teamwork and strategic thinking skills, including financial planning for a year in a specific business, and building a brand persona with expert advice.

• Earner has applied their business management skills to develop a pitch for their business idea. They have demonstrated confidence, communication, and public speaking to successfully pitch their innovative ideas in front of a Founder of The Sheffield Technology Business Parks; an organisation that supports start-up businesses.

• Earner has gained the opportunity to take part in a ‘Dragons Den’ style competition where they could win 6 months of mentoring.
