This badge is given to a student who has completed the Digistart course offered by Turku University of Applied Sciences (Turku UAS). DigiStart is an introduction course to studying and learning at Turku UAS, and new students can access the course on Turku UAS itslearning platform already before the start of their studies. With the help of Digistart, students will get to know Turku UAS shared ways of working and are well-equipped to start their studies. The estimated workload of the course is 25 hours.

DigiStart has five themes: 1. Welcome to Turku University of Applied Sciences! 2. How we study at TUAS and why - What is Innopeda learning culture? 3. How do we support students' well-being? 4. Developing your competences as a student - What and how? 5. Which tools will you use during studies?

Aims

The aim of DigiStart is to give students a good start for their studies at TUAS. They get to know TUAS as an organisation and learn more about the various teaching and learning methods that are used at TUAS, such as principles of innovation pedagogy. Students also find out how their wellbeing and progress in studies is supported and where to find help for different situations. Students can reflect on their own learning from different viewpoints and understand how their competences develop throughout studies and in working life. In addition, students become familiar with different tools and IT systems used during studies.

Requirements for completion

Each of the five themes includes a test with multiple choice questions on the most essential topics of the theme. Students receive a badge if they have completed all five tests successfully (minimum 60% of answers correct).
