Criteria
The recipient of the "Becoming a tourism expert" virtual training has acquired the following competencies:
- Basic understanding of tourism in Finland
- Knowledge of popular tourism destinations in Lapland
- Awareness of how to travel to and within Finland
- Understanding of sustainable and responsible tourism principles
- Ability to recognize and respect local cultures and Finnish way of life
- Knowledge of “Everyman’s Rights” and responsible movement in nature
- Familiarity with safety rules in Lappish conditions
- Basic understanding of working life, working conditions, and key labour legislation in tourism
- Ability to use basic Finnish phrases
- Awareness of different job roles in the tourism industry
- Understanding of the meaning of happiness and creating positive experiences
The badge has been developed within the Becoming a tourism expert through virtual training project, co-funded by the European Union, Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment and REDU (1.1.2025 - 30.9.2026).
