This badge recognized completion of an introduction to Finite Element Analysis (FEA) using the static solver in SolidWorks. Participants learned basic modeling techniques and completed the steps required to perform a static analysis, including applying fixtures and loads, creating a mesh, running the analysis, and interpreting results. Participants also explored the fundamentals of FEA theory, numerical methods used to solve engineering equations, and failure theory related to engineering stress and the yield strength of metals.

Criteria
To earn this badge, participants were required to attend and complete the full 3-hour workshop and successfully complete all assigned activities and exercises to the satisfaction of the instructor. Participants demonstrated foundational knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA), including static analysis setup, mesh generation, result interpretation, and relevant engineering concepts.
