The purpose of the RGM Digital Badge is to provide a comprehensive training resource regarding the set-up of a research award and the management of a research project. The Badge will enable UCC researchers and research support staff to acquire skills and knowledge needed to identify key steps in the research project lifecycle, make effective decisions regarding the management of their research project and understand university, national and European policies relevant to their research. The acquisition of this knowledge and skills by researchers is often hindered by mobility patterns in research careers (i.e. frequent change of host institution) or difficulties in locating the most appropriate resource at the right time. The Badge addresses these difficulties by increasing access to relevant information. Structured around the key steps of a research project lifecycle, the badge describes services offered by multiple UCC offices linked to research support (i.e. OVPRI, Office of Research Grants and Contracts, Procurement, People & Culture, OCLA), examines policies regulating these services and explores actions researchers need to take in carrying out their projects while being supported by these offices.
