Civic Engagement skills are crucial for students in today’s world, empowering them to understand and actively participate in complex social and political issues. These skills foster a sense of responsibility, critical awareness, and the confidence to contribute positively to their communities and beyond. By developing civic engagement skills, students become informed, reflective, and proactive citizens who can navigate diverse perspectives, advocate for social justice, and drive meaningful change. The badge holder has successfully engaged with a range of topics designed to build their civic engagement competence and is considered adequately prepared to participate in real-life civic engagement projects. Learners have completed all learning materials covering four key sections: Principles of Civic Engagement Roles and Responsibilities Communications The Learning Cycle This course was developed by the ATU Teaching and Learning Centre Galway–Mayo. My Digital Backpack was developed under the N‑TUTORR programme and funded by the European Union under the NextGenerationEU initiative, as part of Ireland’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP).
