The ManagEnergy Energy Communities Digital badge is designed to engage professionals, experts and staff from Energy Agencies and Regional and Local Authorities across Europe. This module aims to foster deeper knowledge among the participants of the guiding principles of Energy Communities (ECs) according to RED II, of operational models and of value propositions. It will develop their core competencies in facilitating and supporting the development of ECs in their cities and regions. Key topics of this module include the European framework for ECs, the promotion, the start-up and the operation phase of ECs, the involvement of citizens, financing and successful examples. The programme is delivered in a blended learning format. A one and half-day face-to-face session in Brussels is supported with two half-day online sessions. The classes are delivered by leading energy experts who have a broad range of knowledge and training experience on the topics addressed, including senior staff from local and regional energy agencies. Those who complete the programme will have deeper knowledge of the principle functioning of different EC models - Understand how they can work economically - Have identified potential services to support the market development of ECs in their region - Have developed some core competencies in facilitating and supporting the development of ECs in the regions/cities - Appraise opportunities for collaboration with relevant regional stakeholders.
