Criteria

Criteria:

  • Taken part in a Global Experience of a minimum of 5 days either abroad or virtually, showing a keen interest to develop their cultural competencies during their studies by taking part in a Global Experience.
  • Completed a Skills Reflection Workbook. These workbooks are designed specifically for students to reflect on and articulate their development during the Global Experience in the following skills:

  • Cultural awareness - your understanding of the differences between yourself and people from other countries or other backgrounds, especially differences in attitudes and values.

  • Self-awareness - the quality of being conscious of one's own feelings, character, etc.

  • Adaptability – your ability to change your ideas or behaviour in order to deal with new situations successfully.

  • Empathy - the ability to share another person's feelings and emotions as if they were your own.

  • Confidence - feeling sure about your abilities, qualities, or ideas.

  • Problem solving - the act or process of finding solutions to problems, especially by using a scientific or analytical approach.

  • Independence - being able to manage yourself: taking initiative when required, knowing what needs to be done and doing it and taking ownership when things go wrong.
