Students are members of a global academic community. As members of this community, they have a responsibility to uphold the ethical standards and expectations of their learning environment. In this course, academic integrity is defined as “acting with the values of honesty, trust, fairness, respect, and responsibility in learning, teaching, and research” (Universities Australia, 2017). Through a series of interactive scenarios and learning objects, the Academic Integrity course in the My Digital Backpack provides an overview of the core principles of academic integrity and what it means to act ethically as a student. On completion, learners will have a clear understanding of the values, skills, and behaviours that are essential to maintaining integrity in their academic work and contributing positively to the academic community.
