Earner has taken part in the ‘Introduction to auditing and evaluating the Fairtrade University and College Award’ training course. The training covered Fairtrade and ethical consumption issues and understanding the skills and knowledge needed to conduct an audit. Earner learnt how to use the Fairtrade Award framework to assess how the institution and students’ union have changed their practices to have a positive impact on farmers and workers in the supply chain.
Earner has undertaken at least one audit of an institution and students’ union developing their professional auditing, analytical, and relationship-building skills. The audits require earners to assess documentary evidence teams have uploaded to support their ethical sourcing and trade justice work, as well as interviewing staff teams.
Earner has contributed to the Fairtrade University and College Award programme, which aims to support and recognise FE and HE institutions that work towards embedding ethical and sustainable practices on their campuses.
