Type of recognition

This industry award is benchmarked to level 7 EQF, level 8 AQF and level 11 SCQF. The candidate has successfully demonstrated competencies at this level in the following skillsets:

• Sharing Knowledge and Skills
• Developing Social Potential

The candidate has successfully demonstrated their continuing professional development, supervision and mentoring of their peers, innovation or synthesis of creative tools, processes or products or services and has advocated the professional practice of their sector in the wider creative industries.

The Sector Expert award is a professional award by industry peer review and is equivalent in level to a post-graduate certificate of 60 credits.

Validated by two Peer Reviewers

Final Assessment

The Sector Expert Award is issued after all the 4 step badges have been achieved and signed off by two Peer Reviewers. The first peer reviewer is based in the candidates home country and the second peer reviewer is from the same sector in another country.

There is a third peer reviewer who regularly reviews a sample of candidate submissions over time for quality assurance purposes and for standardisation of approach without limiting candidates opportunities to demonstrate their achievement.

Volume of learning

• 40 hours of recognition of prior learning achieved over 24 months.
• 600 hours applied learning over 24 months.
