It systematically records skills at a resume-significant level, providing learners with credible evidence of their achievements and simplifying the process for them to validate their skills, knowledge, and competencies. This initiative connects academic knowledge with practical skills, demonstrating our commitment to skilled and adaptable students who are equipped to navigate the modern economy.

Criteria

To earn this badge, participants must complete one of the following tracks:

Regular Track (Certification)

  • Complete the 4-week asynchronous Brightspace Basics course, covering announcements, assignments, discussions, and the grade book.
  • Create four weeks of course content for an actual online course.
  • Ensure the developed content meets the OFCC Rubric's six standards: Course Overview and Information, Course Technology & Tools, Design & Layout, Content and Activities Interaction, Assessment and Feedback.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in delivering subject matter in the chosen modality (Online Asynchronous, Online Synchronous, or Hybrid/Blended).

Fast Track (Recertification)

  • Have previously taught an online (asynchronous, synchronous, or hybrid) course at City Tech before certification.
  • Demonstrate ability to use the Brightspace Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Demonstrate that the course meets all OFCC Rubric's six standards: Course Overview and Information, Course Technology & Tools, Design & Layout, Content and Activities Interaction, Assessment and Feedback.
  • Provide evidence of Regular Substantive Interaction (RSI) in the online course.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in delivering subject matter in the chosen modality (Online Asynchronous, Online Synchronous, or Hybrid/Blended).
