The Finance: Estimating & Planning microcredential is earned by completing a short (approximately 10-hour), non-credit, self-paced, online course. Earning this microcredential requires demonstrated knowledge of the different types of costs organizations experience to include their traits and behaviors, an ability to estimate these costs using applicable cost estimation techniques, and an understanding of how this relates to an organization's profitability. The earner’s knowledge is verified via expert-designed assessments. Earners’ knowledge of the following has been assessed and verified: 1. Evaluate the applicability of different cost estimation techniques to varying types of costs. 2. Describe the primary types of costs an organization incurs and examine their behavior. 3. Demonstrate an ability to appropriately estimate different costs. 4. Formulate answers to situations effecting an organization's profitability.

Criteria

  • Work through the microcredential course curriculum.
  • Pass each exam with a score of 80% of higher (multiple attempts are allowed).
  • Submit a completed “Break-Even Analysis” spreadsheet file (.xlsx) with a score of 100%.
