2026 Open Education Award for Excellence Nominee

Open Education Global (OEGlobal) is a dedicated international non-profit organization that serves as a global advocate for open education. It comprises a diverse community of educators, students, researchers, innovators, activists, and policymakers who are united in transforming education systems worldwide. Since 2008, OEGlobal has been at the forefront of the global Open Education movement, promoting the application of open principles across all educational areas.

This certifies the recipient has been nominated for an award by the open education community and will be considered in the review process for the awards issued in September 2026. Regardless of the selection of winners, Open Education Global celebrates and shares the efforts all nominated open educators.

"Marie Bartlett" has been nominated in the Individual Awards category (Open Education Leader and Community Builder Award for Excellence).

"Marie Bartlett's visionary leadership and enduring commitment to advancing open education through collaboration, accessibility, and community building is inspiring! As an instructional designer with Thompson Rivers University Open Learning, Marie co-led the successful proposal for the TRU Open Press Integrated Strategic Plan initiative (2023–2026) with Brenna Clarke Gray, building on the foundation established by TRU's Open Education Working Group. Through her leadership, TRU Open Press became a centralized hub supporting the creation, publication, and adoption of high-quality open educational resources and open educational practices."
