Steps in Teaching

Atlantic Technological University (ATU) is a Higher Education technological university based in the west and northwest of Ireland.

The awardee has successfully completed at least six hours of self directed learning and has achieved the following learning outcomes to a foundational level.

1. Recognise and construct well written learning outcomes.
2. Align assessments with learning outcomes.
3. Understand the need for Universal Design for Learning principles in their modules.
4. Practice using digital tools to enhance student learning.
5. Appreciate best practices in respect of online learning.
6. Locate relevant ATU sources of support for academic integrity.
7. Complete a set of reflection activities on teaching values and student diversity.

The awardee has taken the further step of completing a set of personalised Teaching Philosophy Statement construction exercises and has submitted this as evidence of their practiced reflection throughout the Steps in teaching course.
