Linguistic Tandems
Linguistic Tandems are language exchange partnerships between students. Two students with different native or “strong” languages meet regularly to help each other practice and improve their language skills through conversation and informal activities. Tandems are flexible learning experiences, not formal language courses, and are meant not only to promote multilingualism and multiculturalism, but also a sense of belonging across the Alliance.

INGENIUM is an alliance of ten institutions of higher education from ten European countries. We seek to enable each member of the network to offer high-quality study and qualification programmes with digital components which are shared within the INGENIUM Alliance. Due to the internationalisation of courses and an increase in student and staff mobility, the promotion of intercultural competence among teachers and students is of central interest to us.
Criteria
This badge recognises students who completed the whole process:
- meet a minimum of 5 times over the 8 weeks;
- provide a screenshot/picture of their meeting with a “timestamp”;
- provide a reflective journal/log of their meetings, writing a few lines and explaining the topic and/or what they learnt during each of them.
