The holder of this badge has successfully completed a practical learning module focused on Artificial Intelligence (AI) agents and their use in society, organizations, and business environments. Through guided learning and hands-on activities, the learner has explored how AI-based solutions can support processes, improve productivity, and create value for organizations. During the module, the learner gained experience in workflow-based agent development, built and tested a simple agent, and explored how such solutions can be connected to external tools, services, and information sources to perform structured tasks. The learner developed an understanding of how agents differ from simple conversational systems through their ability to follow workflows, use decision logic, integrate with other systems, and carry out multi-step activities. The badge holder demonstrated competence by applying agent-based solutions to real-world challenges, evaluating potential use cases, and reflecting on the opportunities, limitations, and ethical implications of AI-supported solutions. The learner can identify situations where AI can improve efficiency, support decision-making, enhance customer experiences, and contribute to organizational development. To earn this badge, the learner completed independent preparatory studies, practical exercises, and a reflective assignment examining the practical and ethical use of AI in organizational settings. Achievement of this badge was verified through successful completion of all required learning activities and approved by the module teachers at the University of Vaasa. The total workload is approximately 80 hours, equivalent to 3 ECTS credits.

Criteria

To earn this badge, the individual has demonstrated the following competencies and successfully completed all required learning and assessment activities:

• Demonstrated understanding of the basic principles, capabilities, and use cases of AI agents.

• Built and tested a simple AI-agent solution and demonstrated understanding of how agents perform structured tasks through workflows, decision logic, and integrations.

• Demonstrated understanding of how AI agents can be connected with external tools, services, and information sources to support organizational processes and tasks.

• Applied AI-agent concepts to practical challenges through solution design and development activities.

• Demonstrated understanding of the responsible and ethical use of AI, including consideration of societal and organizational impacts.

• Evaluated how AI agents can create value in areas such as productivity, customer service, process improvement, and organizational effectiveness.

• Reflected critically on personal learning, the opportunities and limitations of AI agents, and the impact of AI technologies on organizations and working life.

• Demonstrated acquired competence through practical assignments, development activities, and reflective work.

• Completed all required learning activities and provided documented evidence of participation and achievement.
