CVEinAI is an EU-funded project that brings together institutions from Europe and Sub-Saharan Africa to co-design and deliver Virtual Exchange (VE) learning experiences focused on the ethical, social, and intercultural dimensions of Artificial Intelligence (AI). Through Virtual Exchange, CVEinAI offers students and educators an opportunity to critically engage with AI and develop 21st-century skills, across borders, cultures, and disciplines. See more at unicollaboration.org Upskilling Masterclass CVEinAI This online Professional Development course provided an Introduction to VE and to the concept of Critical VE (CVE), and what characterises this approach to online education. The aims of this 16-hour course - delivered both synchronously and asynchronously - were for participants to: - understand and experience the main tenets of VE as a pedagogical practice and form of internationalisation at home - familiarise with the different models of VE and approaches to intercultural learning - learn about the core components of CVE and how to co-design and connect them to learning objectives and specific educational contexts - acquire strategies for integrating CVE into university courses - exchange perspectives, understandings and experiences of Artificial Intelligence through the social justice and inclusion lens - strengthen intercultural communication, teamwork, and critical thinking skills

We are UNICollaboration.org, a cross-disciplinary professional organisation for telecollaboration and virtual exchange in Higher Education. The organisation was launched at the Second Conference on Telecollaboration in Higher Education at Trinity College, Dublin in April 2016.

UNICollaboration has two main objectives:

  1. to promote the development and integration of research and practice in telecollaboration and virtual exchange across all disciplines and subject areas in higher education
  2. to actively engage in awareness raising of telecollaboration and virtual exchange at institutional and policy making level

Criteria

CVEinAI logo

This badge is awarded to colleagues who participated actively in 75% of synchronous sessions and activities and have shown an understanding of the main tenets of CVE as a pedagogical practice and as an intervention for engaging critically with AI. Awardees have shown that they:

  • understood and experienced the main tenets of VE as a pedagogical practice and form of internationalisation at home
  • are familiar with the different models of VE and approaches to intercultural learning
  • learned about the core components of CVE and how to co-design and connect them to learning objectives and specific educational contexts
  • acquired strategies for integrating CVE into university courses
  • exchanged perspectives, understandings and experiences of Artificial Intelligence through the social justice and inclusion lens
  • strengthened intercultural communication, teamwork, and critical thinking skills
