Learning Objectives/Outcomes

• Critically review your status as a sector specialist and consider your strengths and any further development needs of your own practice
• Evaluate the effect that your values have had on your practice
• Describe the impact that key individuals or organisations, texts, experiences, or moments have had in shaping your professional practice

Learning and Recognition Experience

• Engage in 4 hours of peer2peer learning with mentoring support from the national Peer Reviewer to reflect on your current professional practice represented in your Digital Validation Portfolio.

• Engage in 8 hours of critical reflection in which you write, record or video 3 Reflective Statements to form a highly focused critique of your professional practice. Each of these Reflective Statements should be approximately 2-3 mins of audio or video recording OR some visual material such as a collage, timeline, chart, or diagram OR 500 words OR a mix of these.

  • The 1st Reflective Statement is a critical review of your status as a specialist and consider your strengths and any further development needs of your own practice. This review should be referenced to each of the required skills sets and acknowledge any personal or professional limits.
  • The 2nd Reflective statement is a critical review of the impact that your values have had on your practice. This should also consider how your own values fit with those of your sector, including those of specific employers, contractors, or host organisations, as relevant. Then, to clearly articulate how your values have influenced, informed, and impacted your own practice, professional development, and career and how your values have impacted different participants in different contexts.
  • The 3rd Reflective statement is a critical review of the key individuals or organisations, texts, experiences, or moments in your own professional journey that have inspired, influenced, or challenged you and have been instrumental in shaping your own practice within and across the required skills sets.

Assessment

The three Reflective Statements are evaluated by two Peer reviewers (1 national/1 international) who must confirm that the candidate has engaged in critical reflection on their current strengths and development needs, the impact of their personal and professional values on their career and the sources of their professional practice. If so, then the milestone award is issued by the international peer reviewer.
