Numeracy Skills: D1 - Fundamentals

This course provides a personalised programme of assessments and interactive lessons, designed to help the students to prepare for success in further studies and their career. The system checks students' proficiency levels in maths, provides upgrading as necessary, and helps them build confidence.

Topics covered:

1. Properties of numbers and Arithmetic Operations
2. Decimal Operations
3. Fractional Operations
4. Proportional reasoning.

Topic structure:

• Diagnostic assessment: tests proficiency on a topic through a short (10-item) single attempt test.
• Remedy lessons: interactive resource helping learners to fill gaps in prior knowledge.
• Summative assessment: confirms the mastery levels on the topic, allowing multiple attempts.

Course settings:

• Scoring 80% or above in the diagnostic unlocks the summative assessment for that topic.
• Otherwise, the learner has to complete the remedy lessons to unlock the summative.
• Scoring 80% or above in each summative assessment unlocks the proficiency assessment.
• Scoring 80% or above in the proficiency assessment confirms a high level of mastery of the topic.
