  • Describe the stages of the Disaster Management Cycle and how community-based disaster management helps to prepare people to respond to the unexpected effects of hazards.
  • Develop Anticipatory Actions as part of DRR, and design Early Warning Systems' ‘last mile’ communications to enable good gender equality action before a disaster.
  • Explain the Climate Risk Assessment framework, how it builds towards resilience, and how it can be applied in town planning and environmental protection.
  • Explore the interconnectedness between climate change, water management and health, and discuss community practices for building local resilience within water management.
  • Construct a Community Adaptation Plan for the town in this course’s case study with CCA and DRR solutions that build resilience into the at-risk community.
