The ManagEnergy Financial Instruments Digital badge is designed to engage professionals, experts and staff from Energy Agencies and Regional and Local Authorities across Europe and equip them with the skills to utilise a variety of financial mechanisms, models and instruments to implement sustainable energy projects. The programme will provide an overview of financial mechanisms and instruments, with emphasis on types of support which Energy Agencies can provide to enable projects to be progressed from concept through to implementation. Financing tools and solutions will be introduced and case studies provided of successful applications of funding models in regions across Europe. The programme is delivered in a blended learning format. A one and half-day face-to-face session in Brussels is supported with two half-day online sessions. The classes are delivered by leading energy experts who have a broad range of knowledge and training experience on the topics addressed, including senior staff from local and regional energy agencies. Those who complete the programme will develop core skills of Energy Agencies to utilise a variety of financial mechanisms, models and instruments to implement sustainable energy projects.

Criteria

On completion of this badge the earner will be able to: 1. Evaluate potential mechanisms/models for project financing and select most appropriate for a specific type of project 2. Identify key risks and success factors for the implementation of larger (10-30 Meur) investment programmes/projects 3. Interrogate potential funding sources/programmes and develop a high-quality proposal to fund the OSS establishment 4. Develop investment programmes/projects focused on three sectors: Modernisation of street lighting; Retrofit of public buildings; Utilisation of RES technologies for electricity supply to buildings, both building integrated and standalone.
