Unit 3: MHPSS in and through EiE

Save the Children is a global movement made up of national member organisations. Save the Children UK is the oldest and one of the biggest members.

The earner of this badge can successfully demonstrate that they can:

• Define and describe mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) and social and emotional learning (SEL) as it relates to education in emergencies programming
• Identify the role of teachers and education personnel in providing MHPSS and SEL activities within education settings
• Identify resources, guidance and tools that can be used to support teachers and education personnel to integrate MHPSS and SEL into education in emergencies programming
• Explain the importance of working across sectors to ensure a coordinated MHPSS response for children, teachers, education personnel and families

This badge is earned by completing the necessary activities, knowledge check tasks and feedback requests within Unit 3.

Unit 3: MHPSS in and through EiE

This course unit has been developed by Save the Children in collaboration with INEE, Plan International, The MHPSS Collaborative and many other contributing partners. The EiE Online course explicitly links to the INEE Competency Framework and is a foundational pre-requisite for the accredited EiE Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS), delivered in partnership with the University of Geneva (see the EiE Professional Development Programme webpage for more information on this).
