This badge recognizes individuals who have completed Basware's Invoice Lifecycle Management (ILM) Consultant Onboarding program: a practical, hands-on path that takes new consultants from first exposure to the Basware offering through to configuring a working ILM environment using the training simulator. Holders have built working fluency in the Basware ILM platform — what it does, how it fits together, and how to configure it to meet real customer requirements across the full invoice lifecycle.

Criteria

To earn this credential, the holder has:

  • Completed the full ILM Consultant Onboarding curriculum in Basware Knowledge Network. The path is a journey through Basware ILM offering, every component, and the end-to-end invoice lifecycle.
  • Worked through the guided simulations in the Basware training simulator and delivered a fully configured, end-to-end tenant that meets the program's validation criteria.
  • Cleared every assessment gate along the way: embedded knowledge checks inside the courses, and the validation milestones at the end of each guided exercise.
  • Finished inside the cohort window assigned by Basware.

On completion, the holder can:

  • Tell the Basware ILM story. Explain what Invoice Lifecycle Management is, what sits inside the Basware ILM platform, and the value it unlocks for finance, AP, procurement, and IT — as one connected system, not a feature checklist.
  • Move through the platform with confidence. Navigate the core modules fluently, find the configuration surfaces that matter, and use the right vocabulary with customers, colleagues, and product specialists.
  • Configure ILM to a brief. Take a business case and turn it into working configuration: tenant setup, master data, suppliers and channels, capture and validation, coding and matching, approval workflows, exception handling, integration touchpoints. Then prove it works.
  • Think in lifecycles, not screens. Reason about every configuration choice in context — knowing that decisions made at supplier onboarding and master data will show up later in matching, approvals, posting, and archive.
  • Operate as a credible ILM consultant. Do the hands-on work expected on a real Basware or partner engagement without step-by-step supervision. And — equally important — know exactly when to bring in a specialist.
